Arabba (BL), 29 August, 2012 – Everything is ready for the seventh edition of the Dolomiti Classic-TMC-Arabba scheduled for Sunday, September 9th, at 9:00 a.m. in Arabba. This is an appointment not to be missed for fans of granfondo events and the marvellous scenery that only the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites can offer.
Following tradition, the race will take place along two routes: one longer, more challenging route of 130 km that will measure riders against the passes at Duran, Staulanza, Giau and Falzarego, and another, shorter, 80 km course accessible to everyone on a loop between Giau and Falzarego.
When they pick up their numbers participants will receive a free, generous race package which will contain a pair of Castelli technical gloves and a series of products from the J-NRG line, featuring supplements and technical creams for sport, plus gadgets supplied by the various sponsors of the event. Also in the race package they will find 2 food coupons that can be used at the Palagusto set up in Arabba, choosing between the usual "Sportsman's" past party or a special local Ladino menu.
This edition will feature several nice new trends, including further enforcement of security measures and technical assistance service during the race. Civil protection service volunteers will be present at strategic points along the routes of both races. We've also planned four refreshment stands and three fixed technical assistance points located respectively on passo Duran, passo Staulanza and passo Giau: all with the necessary equipment (wheels, inner tubes, chains, tyres, seats, pedals, brake lines and assorted parts) to help competitors in case of flat tyres or mechanical problems.
In addition to all this, riders will be accompanied from start to finish by four mobile units (two cars and two motorcycles) ready to intervene at any time, and there will be a mechanic in the sweeper car. To receive assistance all you have to do is stop by the side of the road and raise your hand or contact the "mechanical emergency" number which will be supplied along with the race package.
Why wait any longer? The Dolomiti Classic-TMC-Arabba is also the perfect occasion to spend an end-of-summer weekend with the whole family. Especially since the weather forecast is good, with temperatures expected around 15 degrees.

Not just cycling! Following tradition, once again this year the Dolomiti Classic-TMC-Arabba will offer our guests, participants and company a tasty itinerary of mountain flavours.
At the end of the race, in fact, at the Palagusto set up for the occasion in the centre of Arabba, you can taste a right proper lunch based on typical products from the Ladino tradition accompanied by excellent DOCG Prosecco di Valdobbiadene sparkling wine. Choose between two alternatives: the classic Pasta Party or the Menù Ladino, which is a single dish featuring "a salad of tepid canederlo on local cabbage seasoned with beef goulash" plus, for dessert, "apple strudel or forest berry pie". Everything is prepared and served thanks to the priceless support of Olis professional kitchens.
"The Palagusto is one of the peculiarities of the Dolomiti Classic-TMC-Arabba and a source of great pride" explains Michela Lezuo, President of Arabba Fodom Tourism, committed first hand in organising the culinary part of the event. "We specifically wanted to surpass the logic of the Pasta Party, giving extra impulse to the tourism aspect within the sporting event and at the same time guaranteeing the athletes the added benefit of a sophisticated meal."
Marvelous Dolomite scenery, cycling and good taste: what more could you ask for?
Palagusto Operating schedule:
Arabba, Saturday, 08 September
5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: welcome cocktail
Arabba, Sunday, 09 September:
6:30 – 8:30 a.m.: bicyclers' breakfast
12:00 – 5:30 p.m.: post-race lunch
The route doesn't change, but there will be increased security measures and free technical assistance in the race. Based on experience gained in previous editions, in fact, the Dolomiti Classic-TMC-Arabba has decided to adopt specific solutions so all athletes can complete both the gran fondo (135 km) as well as the medio fondo (80 km) in the best way possible.
Numerous civil protection volunteers will be present in strategic points along the route. Four fixed refreshment points will be set up at the top of every pass crossed by the race, plus three set points for technical assistance will be situated respectively on passo Duran, passo Staulanza and passo Giau: all will be equipped with everything necessary (wheels, inner tubes, chains, tyres and assorted parts) to help competitors in case of flats or mechanical problems.
There will be two to four mobile units. A car and a motorcycle for the long route and a car and motorcycle for the medio fondo route. The cars will follow the head of the race while the motorcycles will continuously be on the move within the peloton to cover the central and final parts of the race as well. To request intervention all you have to do is stop at the side of the road and raise your hand or contact the phone number for the organisation which will be supplied to all the participants with their race package.
Another great new element will be the presence of a mechanic on board the sweeper car which as usual will recuperate those athletes in trouble and their bikes.
"In these years we've strongly believed in this event, which speaks to sport, nature and food, and year after year we've managed to increase its visibiity both in Italy and in Europe by reaching important milestones" says Marco Sartori, President of Dolomiti Stars Bike World. "By listening to the advice of participants and with the aim of constantly improving, we've decided to dedicated even more attention to aspects tied to security and the comfort of the athletes."

THE ENERGY OF TMC TRANSFORMERS LIGHTS UP THE GP COSTA DEGLI ETRUSCHI AND STARTS THE ITALIAN PRO SEASON
Elia Viviani: lightning at the finish line in Donoratico
Busto Arsizio (Varese), 06 February, 2011 - The Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi- TMC Transformers Trophy was a great success. The race took place on Saturday, February 4th, on the roads of the province of Livorno, in that splendid corner of Tuscany where the smell of cycling is always in the air and the epic enterprises tied to bicycles are carried on the wind. The starting line was in San Vincenzo and the arrival in Donoratico on the traditional via Aurelia, after 170 km of great cycling and high paced excitement. The thrills were even stronger and more compelling than the cold and wind that have frozen Italy over the last several days. In fact, on the Etruscan Coast the terrible weather conditions were forced to bow down and make way for a fantastic cycling show.
As is tradition, the Tuscan classic in Donoratico represented the official opening of the Italian professional calendar. It was a great race, with a great winner, Elia Viviani, the young talent from Liquigas Cannondale who really caught the interest of the Italian National cycling team, which sees a future in sprints and on the track in Viviani. Viviani put all his adversaries in line and crossed the finish line first, thus doubling down on his 2011 success. It was a splendid double play worthy of a true champion. Honours also go to the riders who rounded out a fantastic podium, with Sacha Modolo second and Filippo Baggio third, not to mention the day's fugitives Davide Ricci Bitti (Farnese Vini), Alessandro De Marchi (Androni) and Federico Rocchetti (Utensilnord Named), who lit up the crowds along the roads with their brave action.
The great show that was the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi featured TMC Transformers as its star; the company from Busto Arsizio is a world leader in the production of resin-encased electrical transformers and in 2012 they were once again the title sponsor of the race. TMC Transformers transmitted all its energy with the commitment and passion that the organisers of the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi put in to setting up the event and in the determination and grit with which the riders animated the race.

In 2012 TMC Transformers will be at the forefront of many important events in the world of sport.
Busto Arsizio (VA), 06 December, 2011 - TMC Transformers is an Italian company headquartered in Busto Arsizio (Varese), in the province Lombardy. In 2012 this world leader in the production of electric transformers in resin will renew its commitment and passion to sport.
TMC Transformers will be most committed to the field of cycling. As recently announced, we'll be continuing our partnership with the Italian Cycling Federation (Federazione Ciclisitica Italiana), thus consolidating the association that started in September 2011, just a few days before the World Championships at Geelong that saw the TMC Transformers logo on the Italian national team jerseys worn by our athletes in Australia. In 2012, like last year, TMC Transformers will appear on all the federal membership cards (more than 120,000 of them).
Plenty of attention will be focused on young up and comers. TMC Transformers will continue its "on road" experience in 2012 by sponsoring the junior formation of the GB Junior Team, led by ex pro Gianluca Bortolami.
"In sport as in the structure of a company, young people represent our greatest resource," says Luca Colombo, Executive Officer for TMC Transformers. "Young people are our future and we must place our faith in them and try to instil them with experience and values to help them on their path to development and maturity." As far as professional cycling, TMC Transformers will continue its role as title sponsor for the Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi, the Tuscan classic with arrival in Donoratico (Livorno) which will be celebrating its 17th edition in 2012.
TMC Transformers has already renewed its commitment to amateur cycling. There are two events on this calendar: the "Green" Fondo Paolo Bettini – the Geotermia scheduled for the month of April in Pomarance (Pisa) in the "warm heart" of Tuscany and the Dolomiti Classic-TMC to take place in Arabba, in the Dolomites in the province of Belluno, on the second Sunday in September.
Our passion for sport is not limited to cycling. TMC Transformers' "great loves" also include motor racing. In fact, the company from Busto Arsizio is an official sponsor of Team Cozzi Giulio Motor Sport, the quad team that holds the Italian title in this field with their pilots Mattia Torraco and Nicola Montalbini and who have also obtained excellent results in the European Championships in this category. And last but not least, there's the partnership between TMC Transformers and FIGSP Federazione Italiana Golf su Pista – Italian Federation of on- track Golf - that has lasted since 2009. Our various professional commitments have also prompted the Colombo family, who own the company, to take on a liaison to help with the selection and management of our sports sponsorships. The task has been assigned to Dr. Fabrizio Iseni, a jurist and expert in international law who is well known in the sports field for the numerous initiatives he's directly or indirectly connected to.

“Granfondo races enjoy widespread popularity among cycling fans and we're very proud of this new partnership - comments President of TMC Andrea Colombo - This is a great showcase for our brand: the last edition of the Dolomiti Classic registered over 1000 participants from every corner of the Italian peninsula, but also from abroad - Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.”
In its sixth edition the race will offer two different routes, both of which start and arrive in Arabba, in the heart of the Bellunese Dolomites: the long route is 130 technical and spectacular kilometres over the passes at Duran, Staulanza, Giau and Falzarego; the medio fondo route is 80 km, accessible to everyone, with a ring around Giau and Falzarego.
