TMC@HANNOVER MESSE 2022

FINALLY, A "REAL" TRADE FAIR AGAIN!

TMC will participate in the next edition of Hannover Messe from the 29h of May to the 2nd of June.

000 days 00 hours 00 minutes 00 seconds

HANNOVER MESSE is the leading knowledge and networking platform for the manufacturing, energy and logistics industries. From AI and robotics to automation technology, logistics IT and industrial software to batteries and fuel cells: Under the guiding theme “Industrial Transformation“, industry thought leaders present their technologies and ideas for the factories, energy systems and supply chains of the future.

One of the main topic this year is about decarbonization: today than ever, every company is faced with the requirement of reducing its carbon footprint and CO2 emission levels.

TMC strives daily to optimize production processes, to reduce waste and create products that have low emissions and overall impact on the environment. The continuous research for eco-friendly alternative materials and the use of energy from renewable sources are just some of the goals of our process engineering. In fact, TMC implemented a policy to protect and conserve the environment.

TMC has also launched a project to define the Life Cycle Assessment and the Environmental Product Statement (EPD) certification for the processors. This green passport will certify TMC’s commitment to the environment.

TMC and the world of the renewable energy

Renewables applications and installation require extreme flexibility and high-performance products for achieving the ambitious target to be reliable and to reach a real benefit both in terms of ecological impact (important reduction of losses) and in terms of plant efficiency.

In several markets an attention to the quality of the product, with low losses, and high efficiency mean high energy savings that correspond to Co2 reduction, in line with the green transition, occurring in recent years that most of the people are trying to achieve in the world.

TMC Transformers has wide experience in the manufacturing of dry type transformers in this kind of application. We’re talking about green technology, full ambient compliant that is not polluting but recyclable, which can be used in outdoor application where typically people use oil solutions.

TMC PRESENTS "H-ART 180 TECHNOLOGY"

Led by our Research & Development team, TMC Transformers has developed an upgraded insulation system that is based on advanced resin technology, which improves the performance of the transformer and lifetime expectancy, through the mix of ‘colder’ design and implemented class H insulation system.

We call it:

If the design & manufacture of standard distribution transformers is straight forward, often perceived as a commodity in the marketplace, then a totally different approach must be taken when specifying transformers for critical applications, particularly harmonic loads (power conversion, rectifier duty, excitation, traction applications…).

TMC and the world of the Renewable Energy: new boundaries of sustainability

Due to ongoing efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, an increasing number of states and countries are turning to renewable energy sources: this makes the Powergen industry one of the most strategic asset of our times and for TMC investments.

The Renewable application

To guarantee a high level of reliability of the transformer, TMC have certified its products with one of the highest ratings available in the market, achieved through a good protection of the transformer and a particular design, that enabled it to reach the E4 C5 F1 certification.

This certifies our products to be used in challenging environments, thanks to its high environmental class for highly polluted areas, as well as climatic class, for transport, storage and operation at very low temperatures (up to -50° for operating and -60° for storage and transport), and resistance to fire hazard.

TMC have infact developed a range of highly robust and efficient dry-type, outdoor transformers, rigorously type-tested to offer high performance, safety and durability in the harshest of environmental conditions.

Main points:

  • Up to IP55 or NEMA 3R protection
  • Maintenance free
  • Zero explosion/fire risk
  • Reduced costs for civil works and fire protection systems
  • Compact footprint to replace liquid filled transformers
  • Copper or Aluminium windings

A sustainable world of transformers

TMC strives daily to optimize production processes, to reduce waste and create products that have low emissions and overall impact on the environment. The continuous research for eco-friendly alternative materials and the use of energy from renewable sources are just some of the goals of our process engineering. In fact, TMC implemented a policy to protect and conserve the environment.

TMC has also launched a project to define the Life Cycle Assessment and the Environmental Product Statement (EPD) certification for the processors. This green passport will certify TMC’s commitment to the environment.

Network Transformers on Stage

TMC Transformers is manufacturing dry type transformers and reactors for all applications worldwide, such as industry, building and infrastructures, traction substations, marine and offshore, oil and gas, renewable energy, battery storage, mining and data centers.

TMC has a large customer base, which led to the development of all types of customized solutions in the world of dry transformers. This experience has made possible the development of creative projects adapted to the needs of the clients, both in transformers for indoor and outdoor installation, that are able to reach temperatures of -50°C in operation, as well as incorporating different cooling systems (natural air, forced with exchangers, air-water or air-air).

TMC invests heavily in research and development. Dry transformers continue to evolve: new materials, resins, types of insulation, cooling systems.

In fact, a team of technical experts, electrical and mechanical engineers make new developments and solutions possible for our customers.

Tools and methodologies such as finite elements ensure the highest quality product, capable of withstanding short-circuit mechanical stresses and maintaining operational reliability.

The IEEE T&D Exhibition in New Orleans – April 25-28, 2022 – represents an opportunity for energy professionals to reconnect and explore a range of ideas driving change in the industry and TMC will promote solutions and equipment in the electrical transmission and distribution industry.

TMC focuses its participation in this fair on Dry Type Submersible Network Transformers suitable for application in underground vaults on sidewalks in densely populated cities. In case of heavy rain, these vaults can be flooded and for this reason the transformer is located inside a completely sealed tank. Dry type submersible network transformers do not contain oil, avoiding risks of fire propagation in the cities; they are made of entirely welded tank and supplied with external tap changer that facilitates the voltage regulation according to the network. The footprint is similar to liquid-filled units so they are easily interchangeable.

Network transformers are the ideal solution for supplying and distributing energy within infrastructure projects aiming at high efficiency and fire safety. The insulation system is flame retardant and self-extinguishing, making them a safe and reliable choice over combustible fluid-filled transformers.

At the Exhibition, TMC plans to promote the network transformer developed by the company’s R&D team, interact with customers, share experiences and advise customers on TMC’s full range of solutions and proposals in dry transformers.

_______________

In today’s world where information systems represent an essential tool for any business, data centres have become the protagonists of phenomenal growth.”

This is the age of data. There are millions of devices connected to the internet, the number of which continues to grow rapidly. Enormous amounts of data are captured, measured and controlled in order to help improve operations, increase productivity, improve safety standards and search for cost effective solutions. IOT, artificial intelligence, data analytics and cloud storage are just some of the major drivers of the phenomenal growth of data centres.

The data centre application

TMC Transformers offers a comprehensive range of MV (distribution) and LV (isolation) dry type transformers, engineered specifically for use in data centres. Our knowledgeable and experienced engineers design solutions that are safe, highly-robust, efficient, environmentally sustainable and maintenance free: critical factors for such a demanding application. Amongst many important considerations, it’s imperative that attention is given to factors such as load characteristics (non-linear loads with high harmonic content), transient voltages (frequent switching), noise control and management of leakage currents.
