Certification
TMC designs and develops dry transformers respecting the highest international standards.
The certifications that we are constantly committed to obtaining do not represent simple bureaucratic formalities, but actual tools of guarantee, transparency, and credibility.
They bear witness to our daily commitment to improving the quality of production processes and environmental protection.
Each recognition strengthens our ability to operate internationally while maintaining high-quality standards, thus consolidating the trust of customers and partners who choose TMC as a point of reference for reliable and innovative solutions.
INSTITUTIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
Institutional certifications represent the foundation of our reliability. They ensure that every process, from design to production, follows recognized international standards, guaranteeing quality, safety, and consistency across all our sites worldwide.
ISO 9001:2015 – QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
ISO 9001: 2015 certification is the most widespread international standard in the world concerning quality management. It is not just a certificate of conformity, but evidence of TMC's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
This certification, obtained in Italy (Busto Arsizio, Fabro, and Officine Tironi), in the United States (TMC USA), and in Israel (TMC Israel), guarantees the presence of an effective business management system.
This system ensures that all production processes, from design to delivery, are reliable and traceable.
ISO 14001:2015 - ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
ISO 14001:2015 certification is proof of TMC's commitment to responsible environmental management.
This system, active at plants in Busto Arsizio, Fabro, Officine Tironi, and TMC USA, helps the company in reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
ISO 45001:2023 – OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
The ISO 45001:2025 certification is a pillar of TMC's corporate culture, representing the international standard for health management and safety at work, achieved by factories in Busto Arsizio, Marnate, Fabbro, at Officine Tironi, and in the United States.
ISO 17025:2018 – TEST LABORATORIES
ISO 17025:2018 is the international standard that defines the technical competence requirements of testing and calibration laboratories.
With this certification, TMC ensures that transformer tests are accurate, scientifically valid, and internationally recognized. It means providing the customer with the certainty that each verification is carried out with utmost rigor and with universally accepted criteria.
ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS
Environmental certifications reflect our commitment to sustainability and transparency. They allow us to measure, communicate, and continuously improve the environmental performance of our products throughout their entire life cycle.
ISO 14067:2018 – CFP
ISO 14067:2018 defines methodologies for calculating and reporting the carbon footprint of a product. Via this certification, TMC measures CO₂ emissions generated throughout the entire life cycle of transformers and adopts tangible strategies to reduce them. To offer transparent and verifiable solutions, the application of this method stands out as one of the most valuable, with direct benefits on the overall product chain sustainability.
EPD – ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION
The Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD, is a trusted, certified document that helps to understand the real environmental impact of a product through life cycle analysis. It follows the ISO 14025 standard, which defines Type III.
For TMC transformers, the EPD offers a guarantee of transparency, sharing verified data on emissions, resource use, and overall environmental impact. It helps our customers feel confident making more informed and sustainable choices. Obtaining an EPD is a pivotal step in the life cycle analysis (LCA), which includes careful document editing, independent verification, and registration. At TMC, we chose a 'multi-product' EPD, built around a product that represents our entire range, with a 'cradle-to-grave' approach that embraces all life cycle phases, including maintenance and withdrawal.
We are proud that TMC is the only producer of medium voltage transformers to have published an EPD on Environdec, the international reference register. This achievement is a testament to our ongoing commitment to transparency and sustainable innovation, and we are delighted to share it with you.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATIONS
Product certifications confirm that our transformers meet the most rigorous technical and safety requirements across different international markets. They are a tangible guarantee of compliance, reliability, and suitability for diverse applications and operating conditions.
UL
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification is a global guarantee of safety and quality, especially recognized in North American markets. Our transformers are UL certified, confirming their compliance with the most rigorous international standards.
The certification focuses on the technical and construction characteristics of each model, from the technology used (such as VPI or CAST) to the type of conductor, up to power, voltage, and frequency. Furthermore, the thermal classes attesting to their heat resistance are specified.
This approach ensures that our transformers respond to the different needs of the market, guaranteeing maximum safety and reliability.
CSA Certification
CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification is essential for selling transformers in Canada, as it certifies that the products have undergone rigorous audits to ensure safety and compliance with Canadian regulations. Obtaining this certification not only opens up the Canadian market but also confirms the reliability and quality of TMC transformers, strengthening their international reputation.
TUV CERTIFICATION
Dry transformers manufactured by TMC have successfully passed input protection tests (IP code), a certification that attests to the ability of enclosures to resist dust and liquids.
These certifications confirm that TMC transformers operate safely, reliably and sustainably in a wide range of environmental conditions, ensuring high performance even in harsh and challenging environments.
TMC casings have achieved different levels of protection. IP54 certification ensures effective resistance against dust and splashes of water coming from any direction.
The IP55 level ensures protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, while the IP56 extends safety to even more powerful water jets. Finally, the IP66 protection rating represents the highest level, offering a complete barrier to dust and resistance even to high-pressure water jets or strong waves.
ATEX – EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES
The ATEX directive governs the use of equipment in environments with a risk of explosion. Obtaining this certification will allow TMC to offer transformers for refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical industries, and other highly critical contexts.
It is a fundamental safety guarantee, which ensures total reliability of the products even in the most extreme operating conditions.
GOST – EAC TR CU
GOST/EAC TR CU certification is mandatory for exporting and marketing products to Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. It represents an official confirmation that TMC transformers comply with the technical and safety standards required in these markets. For our international customers, this means being able to count on products that are immediately compliant and ready for use.
