Proposal Engineer Intern
TMC Transformers S.p.A., a global leader in the design and manufacture of medium- and low-voltage transformers, is seeking for a Proposal Engineer Intern at its headquarters in Busto Arsizio (VA).
The selected candidate will report directly to the Proposal Manager and join a highly technical team. The role focuses on providing technical support to the sales team during the pre-sales phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Development: Verify the technical requirements of quote requests and identify any special features; perform preliminary electrical sizing and analytical calculation of manufacturing costs
- Contract Analysis: Conduct a thorough review of technical specifications (often in English) to identify constraints and risks prior to quoting;
- Collaboration with the Technical Department and Global Sales to define the most competitive technical solution (Design-to-Cost).
Requirements:
Education:
- Graduates or soon-to-be graduates with a degree in Engineering in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Electronic, Physics, Energy, Automation
Technical skills:
- Business acumen: Ability to fully understand and interpret customer requests, recognizing the customer’s specific expertise and the context in which they operate
- Affinity in electrical calculations (losses, impedances, conductor cross-sections, etc.).
- Numerical aptitude
Soft skills:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Precision, autonomy, and a sense of responsibility.
- Good knowledge of technical English.
